Ferny Hills State School is offering a Bring Your Own Device Program for Year 3 to 6 students in 2024. This program, entitled ‘ELF’ (E-Learning @ Ferny) is for all students in the cohort.
Parents are strongly encouraged to provide a new or pre-owned iPad that meets the school’s specifications, outlined in the school’s ELF Policy.
The aims of the ELF Program are to:
- enable personalisation of student learning through access to rich learning resources,
- facilitate the development of knowledge and skills necessary for the 21st century workforce, including digital-age literacy, innovative and creative thinking, effective communication and high productivity,
- allow continuous access to educational materials allowing learning efficiency to happen anywhere, anytime,
- provide an engaging, interactive environment for learning, and
- strengthen links between home and school, giving parents the opportunity to see, every day, what their child is learning at school.

Preparing Students for the Program
Students will undertake a series of units developed by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner which cover the topics of: online safety, cyberbullying and the impact of sharing digital images.
